We work primarily with volunteers for two reasons:

First, we have found that volunteers are in the best position to meet the unique needs of each child. All of our volunteers are teachers, social workers, guidance counselors, school principals, or other childcare professionals. They work with the children enrolled in our sponsorship program on a daily basis, and they observe firsthand the circumstances of each child’s life.

Second, working with volunteers allows us to keep our programs highly efficient. We benefit because we employ only a small number of paid staff.  This allows us to devote a higher percentage of our funds directly to our child care programs. Meanwhile, our volunteers benefit because our programs help them to improve the lives of the children in their care.

SPONSOR A CHILD

What is Children Incorporated?

Children Incorporated provides basic necessities such as food, clothing, healthcare and educational support to children living in poverty in the U.S. and abroad. These essentials, so often taken for granted, are vital to a child’s growth and success in school. Each year, we give thousands of children in need all over the world a chance at a better life.

Today, thanks to our supporters around the globe, we now have 235 affiliated sites in 20 countries, including the United States, which serve over 20,000 children annually.

Today, thanks to our supporters around the globe, we now have 235 affiliated sites in 20 countries, including the United States, which serve over 20,000 children annually. To date, our programs have provided over 300,000 children with desperately needed support.

Your sponsorship does more than just feed or clothe a child. For $30 a month, you not only help meet the basic and critical needs of a child, but you also make an investment in his or her future.

Our policy has always been to consider the needs of each sponsored child on an individual basis. We work closely with our volunteer coordinators at our affiliated sites, who are familiar with each individual circumstance and the needs of every child in their care.

Sponsorship donations are sent to our affiliated sites – community centers, childcare centers, and established schools – at the beginning of each month in the form of subsidy stipends. Our onsite volunteer coordinators use the funds to purchase basic and education-related items for children in our program to ensure that they have what they need to do their very best and succeed in school. Additionally, children benefit from the knowledge that a caring person is concerned for their well-being.
