Children, Incorporated International Projects Manager Shaun Mabry just returned from two weeks in Costa Rica where he visited our five project sites there and established contacts for training at the recently-opened Bambu Farmer’s Market, Se Ska Iyi. Follow along this week to learn more the projects and children he encountered as well as the latest news on our farmer’s market.
The Santa Luisa Project is located in the indigenous reserve of Bambu. The project not only serves the indigenous population in Bambu, but it also serves indigenous children from the neighboring community in Chuap, right at the Panama border. To reach the project, the children and their families travel over an hour and cross a large river. During the rainy season, the river rises and frequently cuts off access to the region.
The project has been serving the local indigenous community for four years. Through Children, Incorporated’s ongoing support, 64 area children receive nutritious food, medicine and school supplies. You can sponsor a child at the Santa Luisa project or in one of our hundreds of other locations around the world, please click here or contact us today at (800) 538-5381.
