This home houses 58 children, many of them in middle and high school. As in most of the homes, there are more boys than girls and there is definitely “boy energy” on the grounds! Lots of running, horseplay, and SOCCER. These guys are crazy about soccer.Â

The children also have the chance to learn traditional Korea drumming, working with rain barrels to practice before advancing to “real” drums. The drumming group performs with rain barrels, frying pans, metal pots, all in a burst of sound that leaves no one nodding off. Â

The home’s counselor and social worker works extensively to find grant opportunities and volunteers to bring enrichment to the children’s lives. She has encouraged a group of expatriate teachers in the city to come tutor the children in English and partners with US military visitors to allow field trips to the ships they dock in the Busan harbor. This is a busy,active place!
